Finding Footpaths: What is a Native Land Acknowledgment

Join us

For our November 18 meeting, it’s come as you are -- no speaker, just a community of learners.  Together we will explore resources about Native land acknowledgments and discuss the purpose of this growing practice, as well as the pitfalls.  We will explore which stories of the Indigenous peoples of this area are readily available in recorded town history, and consider together where to seek more information about past and present-day American Indian communities.  Finally, in group discussion, we will consider the various relationships we have with the history of this land and its people, while seeking to expand our view of the present moment.

Thanks to the generosity of Webster University, we will be in Room 253 of the East Academic Building at 545 Garden Avenue. Masks are required. We have permission to park across the street in the Garden Park Plaza garage.
