Day 1 of 3 • The Education Equity Center of St. Louis: Anti-Racist Summer School Workshops / Grounding and Language: Introduction to Anti-Racist Education

From The EEC of STL:

The Education Equity Center of St. Louis envisions a transformed education system that is free of racism and harmful practices, policies, and systems negatively impacting black and brown students.

Given the histories of systemic racism that are deep and pervasive in education, we will need to understand and address the mental models we are operating from in order to move towards this vision. To this end, we build the anti-racist capacity of educators in the St. Louis region.

Day 1 of 3 / Grounding and Language: Introduction to Anti-Racist Education

We have been so ‘action driven’ to do Anti-racist work that we’ve overlooked fundamental truths about transformative change. This workshop is centered around intentional transformative change that happens when we begin with our inner work. We will pause, reflect on our individual journeys, and consider how to employ our findings to mobilize and inspire our anti-racist work in our communities.

Attending each virtual session is encouraged but not required.
