Day 2 of 3 • The Education Equity Center of St. Louis: Anti-Racist Summer School Workshops / Root Cause and Impact: History and Data

From The EEC of STL:

The Education Equity Center of St. Louis envisions a transformed education system that is free of racism and harmful practices, policies, and systems negatively impacting black and brown students.

Given the histories of systemic racism that are deep and pervasive in education, we will need to understand and address the mental models we are operating from in order to move towards this vision. To this end, we build the anti-racist capacity of educators in the St. Louis region.

Day 2 of 3 / Root Cause and Impact: History and Data

Systemic racism runs deep and is pervasive in education. This workshop is centered around understanding the root cause and impact of oppression and socialization, how it manifests in us and affects the students we serve. We will spend time understanding and addressing our mental models in order to work towards a vision of equitable education for St. Louis.

Attending each virtual session is encouraged but not required.
